About Uptown Grocery Co

The Uptown Grocery Co. Mission: To inspire and support a healthy community.

Store Hours: 7:00 am - 11:00 pm

After working most of his life in the food and grocery business in Michigan, Hank Binkowski moved to Oklahoma in 1986 to work for a five-store grocery chain.  He made the decision to enter the Oklahoma grocery world as a store owner in February of 1988. He purchased the BUY FOR LE$$ store at Penn and Hefner; redefined its pricing and marketing image. By 2003 we had expanded to 9 stores.  In 2005 BUY FOR LE$$ piloted its first Hispanic format store to cater to the growing Hispanic population in the metro area.

In February 2012, BUY FOR LE$$ opens a new banner called Uptown Grocery Co in Edmond, OK.  The upscale design is inspired by the classic New York warehouse district. Interest is given to the building’s design to make it look different in shape and being set back on the site.

We now have 14 stores throughout the Oklahoma City metro area employing over 1,100 people. We pride ourselves on keeping prices low, maintaining the highest quality perishables and providing a large variety of international items.

Hank BinkowskiAs the owner of BUY FOR LE$$ & Uptown Grocery Co, I want to keep up with our internet savvy shoppers and bring our store right to your desktop.  I invite you to check out our new and improved website.

Our mission is and always will be to endlessly search for the best deals, the freshest perishables, and the highest quality items on all of the products you buy and use every day.

We do ALL OF THIS so you can BUY - FOR - LE$$!

If you are not already a regular guest at Uptown Grocery Co - we welcome you! If you are, we THANK YOU!
